The Imagination Times: 🎨 Your Creative Vision for 2024

01 / Who would you be if you had nothing to prove?

Often in life, we do things because we're afraid. Fear leads us in acting a certain way, keeping up certain habits, masking our true selves.

When it comes to expressing your full creative expression of self, this becomes glaringly apparent.

From the time we are young, we are taught and groomed to believe that our authentic creative expression is worthless.

It shows up most with small, throwaway phrases that spill out of our mouths as Truth Without Thinking. Meaning, it's so easy for us to reach for these thoughts that they feel like they're true (even when they're not).

Thoughts like:

  • "I'm not creative."
  • "I can't draw."
  • "Ha! I wish I was musical."
  • "I used to do it a lot as a kid, but now I can't remember the last time I... insert activity here: painted, draw, creative writing, etc."

And so where can you invite in some flexibility for your creative self expression? Where could you let go of needing to be skilled at a certain level to call yourself creative, and instead take on a growth oriented mindset. Who could you be if you had nothing to prove to anyone while creating? Who might you become with a mindset that encourages the joy and excitement of exploratory creative expression?

This is what we will be exploring starting March 2nd in Creative Intimacy: A 5-week journey of self discovery through creative rituals

Because fear and creativity cannot coexist.
